PSA

What is the proposed issue? Describe the problem and why it is important to the public? Are there an statistics involved which might be useful?
         -  Posting violent or hateful content online. The problem is that so many are being bullied by what is said online to them or about them. Also, a lot of people post word violence all over when they are mad at someone else and want them to know it. They are also able to view websites about violence or self harm. This is important to the public because we need to help those who are being targeted by this whether they are the one posting about it or the one that is targeted by others.
1. Unfortunately, the internet also offers a place where negative and violent emotions can be fostered, such as hate group web sites. http://www.teenviolencestatistics.com/content/internet-violence-and-cyberthreats.html
2.Research has associated exposure to media violence with a variety of physical and mental health problems for children and adolescents, including aggressive and violent behavior, bullying, desensitization to violence, fear, depression, nightmares, and sleep disturbances. http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/124/5/1495.full
3. In addition to modeling violent behavior, entertainment media inflate the prevalence of violence in the world, cultivating in viewers the “mean-world” syndrome, a perception of the world as a dangerous place. http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/124/5/1495.full

Whom do I want to speak to?
          - Parents

What is the proposed message? What do I want the person who is watching this to understand?
        -  The proposed message is to let parents know that there is a problem with hateful and violent content being posted online by many children/ teens and there are things that parents can do about it. I want the person who is watching this to understand that there is things that can be done to decrease this.

What is the call to action? What do I want the person to do? What can an individual do in the home or community? How will the action solve the problem?
           - I want the person to take time to talk to their children about violence and hateful things and ways that it hurts others. I also want them to encourage their children to talk to them about things that are going on online. Be able to allow the children to tell them if they see violence and hateful content being sent. An individual can do many things at home and in the community to help. Have family nights to where they are not online, have community service projects. They could do a community violent watch. Many things can be done there is no limit. This action will help children by giving less time online. And have their minds on something else fun, and enjoyable.
